  1. Short:  Super Offroad Racer Disk Patcher for 68020+ Non-EC users

  5. Now the game works without problem on all 680x0 CPUs

  7. PATCHES DONE:
  8.  
  9. - No need to disable the caches. This is done at bootup.
  10. - Disk protection removed (actually this s**t caused the crash)
  11.  
  12. How to patch your Super Offroad Racer disk:
  13.  
  14. Make a backup copy of the disk (it's copy-protected,
  15. but as I said I removed the protection)
  16. You'll have to use a nibble mode to copy it since the tracks are
  17. non standard. Use X-Copy or D-Copy (D-Copy is available on Aminet)
  18. do to this (it works).

  20. Insert disk to be patched in DF0: (write UNPROTECTED)
  21.  
  22. Type 'offroadpatch' in the CLI or click on the 'offroadpatch'
  23. ugly icon.
  24. Type RETURN at the offroadpatch prompt and your disk will
  25. be patched.

  27. I improved the program by inhibiting DF0: while accessing disk.
  28. The drawback is that it fails under KS2.0, but users who patch
  29. have got at least a 68020 so I hope they've got KS2.0 :-)

  31. I tested it with the following configurations:

  33. A500/68000/512K chip (it worked before the patch :-))
  34. A1200/680EC20/NoFast
  35. A1200/68060/16Mb Fast
  36.  
  37. It should work OK for any CPUs now.

  39. If you have problems with the patch, send me a bug
  40. report (specify the CPU).

  42. I'm also looking for people who could send me original disks for me to patch them
  43. for 680x0 or write HD-Installers (not for cracked versions. Please don't ask)
